Make Mine Mod - Jason Wu designed the Inaugural ballgown for Michelle Obama. Our guest judge this week is from Integrity Toys too, but his designs favour a mod theme. Let's jump back 40 years and imagine that Austin Powers is the President of the US. Design an Inagural outfit for HIS first lady.

Diana - Design and drape of the fabric are used to excellent effect. Accent pieces are perfect.

Janet: Right for the era and the event. The details Ė such as the way the scarf hangs Ė enhance the whole look. Use of 2 different fabrics in the same color is very good.

My winner for this challenge.
Perfect styling for the period with an innovative surprise element in the hidden wide legged pants.

Gorgeous ensemble. Love the mix of the snakeskin with the chiffon. You had me with the palazzo pants. Iím not absolutely sure of the chain running the full length but I like that you took a chance with it.

Put Your Best Foot Forward - Joe Tai is our guest judge this week. As you may or may not know, Joe is the "king of shoes". This week take a pair of shoes/boots and design an outfit around it. Please include a pic of just the shoes as well in your entry.

Wow, wow, wow! I love this outfit! The colors, the styling Ė itís all great. My one piece of advice is to work on your finishing just a bit. Considering over-locking or a zig-zag stitch to finish raw edges and seams on woven fabrics that will unravel, like on your shorts and make sure you trim the seam allowances on your knits carefully and fairly close to the seams.

Perfect marriage between the boots and the outfit. The color scheme is eye-catching and the choice of fabrics very chic, resulting in a young, sophisticated design. The attention to detail is fantastic.

The color combination ( light green/dark red) is not a safe way, because they are two totally different colors, however, artist used black and grey to connect all colors together, good job, very chic, so I gave 19 points high score, if the handbag and boots material could match, I would give even higher score.

Shane:
This is a beautiful fashion. I love the hot pink chiffon lining and the delicate embellishment. As in other cases the level of embellishment just doesnít do enough to define the look.

Diana:
The silhouette of the gown is so feminine and elegant, and I liked the eyelet work. But a different color of dress fabric would have made those details 'pop' in a more dramatic way.

Janet:
I was surprised there wasn't more detailing on the front; the pink and gold contrast was nice. Presentation was excellent.

Magalie Dawson:
Very beautiful, I love the hot pink repetition of the underskirt that ties in with the fur stole. The construction and fit is impeccable, the lacing a nice and in scale touch. The jewelry and purse finishes the look beautifully. For this challenge, I would have chosen a different type of design, as I would have loved to see more embellishment, but for this gown, nothing could be added to it, I was thinking of maybe some pink bead work throughout the dress, but it would have taken from the pureness of it.

Challenge 4
On the Fashion Edge - This week's guest judge is an amazing doll artist. His OOAK creations are always on the cutting edge. This week you must create an avante guarde casual outfit(no you don't have to use an Avant Guard doll) This outfit must be edgy...think Alexander McQueen.

I think this fashion is amazingly beautiful. I adore the colors you have chosen and the silhouette is perfect! Your fabric painting is gorgeous! All that said I donít think the look is radical enough in comparison to some other fashions here to get the top score on meeting the challenge.

Beautiful outfit in tremendous colors. The styling is quite traditional and perhaps not as avante-garde as it might have been. Love the bow treatment at the back and the corsage at the front. Wonderful use of the print.

Rob Thompson:
I really like this fashion; it is young, fresh, and very current. It looks well constructed and well put together. The skirt is adorable; I love the shape and the pocket detail, the bow at the back of the bodice is a wonderful touch. The purse is beautiful. Everything works well together, and is a very nice RTW fashion; I could see this in Teen Vogue! I do however feel that it is not fashion forward, edgy, or Avant Garde. While it is a lovely fashion it doesnít push any limits. For me it doesnít meet the challenge of being Avant Garde.

This is an impeccably-made dress and I really like the silhouette. I gave it a lower score for originality but I feel that this is a tough theme for coming up with something that is truly fresh and inspiring. Iím not a real fan of the fabric that you have chosen for this fashion. I donít feel that it offers true awards night glamour.

This design has great 'sex appeal'. Although it is in some ways classic, the 2 rose accents draw the eye in a provocative way.

Inspired by Audrey - This week's guest judge takes his inspirations for his incredible collections from many areas. This week you must take on a muse that has inspired Randall Craig himself. Your challenge this week is to create a design that is Inspired by Audrey(Hepburn). This should not be a remade or copied Audrey outfit, but something that you have designed that would suit Audrey's style and be something Audrey would have loved to wear.

I think you have come very close to hitting the Audrey esthetic. The turtleneck blouse, trouser pants and the jacket are just perfect and I can absolutely see her walking the dog in them. The one thing that I donít feel quite fits is the patterned bag and belt. Personally I love them but Iím not sure that Audrey would have chosen them.

Bravo on the accessories! They really add the bling to classic pieces. I also like the 'third color' effect of the olive.

An ensemble for the modern-day Audrey - I can envision it and I think itís a perfect fit. The style is wonderful. The textures are lovely and the accessorizing is perfect. It looks very professional. I can easily recognize your work and it is always beautifully executed. You have a distinct style and I think thatís what being a designer is all about. The challenge is about Audrey and you managed to do something that would suit Audrey but it is still very you.

Mad WoMEN - Our guest judge this week is the owner of the fabulous Dressmaker Details. This line is famous for it's fantastic cocktail fashions with that 60's flair. Your challenge this week will be to design the perfect cocktail fashion for your model, who by the way will be wearing your design as she guest stars in an episode of the wildly popular TV series Mad Men, entitled, The Cocktail Party.

This is a beautiful fashion. I think itís a close fit on the theme. Yes, I agree that the little black dress experienced a resurgence in popularity but a theme set in the early 1960ís also gives us an opportunity to explore a wonderful plethora of rich and colorful fabrics that I think would have served you a bit better for this challenge. Overall, your dress is very well constructed but it looks like your tension was off when finishing your seams. I see an awful lot of loopy thread for a doll to catch her fingers in when dressing.

Very, very couture. I was glad for the close up, which showed the different bodice fabric. Also, the tiny details really made this Ė all those buttons up the back, the superb purse and even the graduated pearls in the necklace.

Janet:

Around the world in one Fashion! - Like Susie by R&D Fashion dolls, your model is a world traveler. On her arrival at her destination, it appears that her luggage went to Hoboken instead of with her. Now she must use what she is wearing to make a transition from day to night, but she needs that transition to reflect the city she is visiting. Please choose your city and don't forget to tell us in your description what city it is. You should also give the judges a good description of how your style fits your city. As this is the last challenge this is your time to really show us YOUR style.

I liked the overall effect of the ensemble, especially the well-tailored coat. But I don't know that the outfit really meets the challenge in an imaginative way. Although the top is removed to show the dress, nothing really changes to create an entirely new look.
Janet:
I love the colors and the contrast between the black, white and plum. I believe the changes were simple...but, realistic. That's what a woman would do.
